Activities of Daily Living and Assistive Technology Assessments
At Russell Occupational Therapy, our ADL and Assistive Technology Assessments are designed to help individuals build independence, safety, and confidence in their daily routines. Whether you’re experiencing changes in mobility, recovering from injury, or navigating long-term disability, we work with you to understand your unique needs and select practical solutions that make everyday life easier.
During the assessment, your Occupational Therapist observes how you complete essential Activities of Daily Living, such as dressing, showering, meal preparation, mobility, and household tasks. We identify what is working well, what may be challenging, and where meaningful improvements can be made.
When assistive technology is indicated, we provide guidance on the most suitable equipment or environmental modifications to support your goals. This may include mobility aids, bathroom and kitchen equipment, pressure care solutions, seating, communication tools, or home safety devices. We ensure all recommendations are evidence-based, cost-effective, and tailored to your specific environment.
Following the assessment, you will receive clear recommendations and, where required, a comprehensive report for funding bodies such as the NDIS, insurers, or healthcare providers. Our focus is on enabling you to participate fully in daily activities, maintain safety, and enhance your overall quality of life.
