Our services

Functional Capacity Assessment

A key step in your journey, and an essential factor in seeking NDIS funding, we provide thorough and extensive assessment and reporting to identify and advocate for the supports that you need. With hundreds of these already completed over several decades, our Occupational Therapists can provide a detailed service that gives clients the best chance to access the supports that they need to improve their quality of life

Home and Living Assessment

A comprehensive assessment exploring your current living situation and long-term housing and support needs. This may include Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options (ILO), or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
We work collaboratively with you, your support team, and the NDIS to develop clear, evidence-based recommendations that align with your goals, functional capacity, and support requirements.

Activities of Daily Living and Assistive Technology Assessments

Meet with an Occupational Therapist and discuss the challenges you are facing, and benefit from our years of experience in working with ageing and disability. Whatever the difficulty there is a a very good chance that we can draw from thousands of cases in our experience or connect you with other helpful people in our network.

Mobility and Transfer Assessments

Safe and effective mobility is essential to independence. We provide detailed assessment and recommendations for transfers, mobility aids, hoists, and equipment to ensure comfort, efficiency, and safety in daily routines. Our focus is on reducing injury risk for both clients and carers, while enhancing participation in meaningful activities.

Wheelchair and Seating

A speciality of Russell Occupational Therapy is our extensive knowledge and experience in assessing, prescribing and fitting clients for wheelchairs. As many have discovered a wheelchair that is poorly set up and incorrectly fitted can cause a raft of painful issues later on. We will work closely with you and our network of suppliers to ensure that your wheelchair is just right for you and becomes a pathway to retaining your independence and quality of life.

Home Modifications

So often we love the home we live in, but what happens when illness, ageing or injury make it difficult to be able to use those spaces or even to remain in the home we love? Russell Occupational Therapy can assess and plan modifications, including complex modifications, to your home that may make it possible to live in the space you love despite the challenges posed by illness, injury or ageing.

Considering a new home? We can help you to make sure your choice can be fitted out in the future to accomodate the progression of your condition.

Pressure Care Assessment

Pressure care is an important part of maintaining skin integrity, comfort, and health, particularly for those with reduced mobility or sensation. We assess your seating, mattress, and positioning needs, recommending pressure-relieving cushions, support surfaces, and seating adjustments to minimise risk and promote long-term wellbeing.

Fatigue Management

Fatigue can have a major impact on daily life, particularly for people living with neurological or chronic conditions. Our fatigue management sessions focus on energy conservation, pacing, activity scheduling, and environmental modifications, helping you maintain engagement in the things that matter most while reducing the impact of fatigue.

Collaborative Working

We believe in working together. Our therapists liaise closely with families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, equipment suppliers, and home modification teams to ensure all recommendations are cohesive and tailored to your goals. Collaboration ensures continuity of care and stronger, more sustainable outcomes.

Clinical Supervision

We provide professional supervision for Occupational Therapists seeking guidance in neurological practice, NDIS reporting, complex assessments, and reflective practice. Supervision sessions are supportive and practical, designed to build confidence, develop clinical reasoning, and enhance professional growth, available in person or via telehealth.
