Home and Living Assessments

At Russell Occupational Therapy, our Home and Living Assessments provide a thorough and holistic review of your current living situation, daily routines, and long-term housing needs. Whether you are exploring Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options (ILO), or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), we help you understand the supports that will best promote safety, independence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

During the assessment, we take the time to learn about your goals, abilities, challenges, and preferences. We look closely at how your home environment supports, or limits, your functional capacity, and identify what changes or supports may improve your overall wellbeing. This may include assistive technology, environmental modifications, carer supports, or alternative housing pathways that offer greater stability, safety, and autonomy.

Collaboration is central to our approach. We work closely with you, your family or support team, and the NDIS to ensure all recommendations are clear, practical, and evidence-based. Our detailed reports outline your current needs, future goals, and the level of support required to achieve sustainable, long-term housing outcomes aligned with NDIS criteria.
